Systematic Theology

noun

Organizing the Bible's teaching by topic — what all of Scripture says about God, sin, salvation, the Church, the last things.

Not To Be Confused With

Systematic theology arranges doctrine by TOPIC; biblical theology traces themes through the STORY of Scripture book by book and era by era. They complement each other.

Systematic theology gathers everything Scripture teaches on a subject into a coherent whole — the doctrine of God, of Christ, of salvation, and so on. It aims for consistency across the canon and clarity for teaching.
