In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Creation Begins With God

Genesis begins without argument. It does not prove God; it reveals the world as dependent on him. Before the heavens and the earth, God is. Everything that exists receives being from his word.

The repeated pattern matters: God speaks, creation responds, God names, God separates, God blesses, and God sees that it is good. The world is not divine, but it is not evil. It is God's good creation.

Humanity In The Image

The creation of humanity in God's image gives every human life an irreducible dignity. Dominion is not permission to exploit; it is royal stewardship under the Creator, a calling to reflect God's wise rule within the created order.

The Seventh Day

The week ends in rest, not because God is weary, but because creation is ordered toward communion. Sabbath is built into the grammar of the world: the creature receives life, work, and rest from God.
